The 2011 Toyota Yaris ranks 26 out of 33 Affordable Small Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 69 published reviews and test drives of the Toyota Yaris, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The 2011 Toyota Yaris has a few good things going for it: excellent fuel economy, an affordable base price and an eccentric appearance. However, with a lackluster cabin and an uncomfortable driver seat, other small cars are better options.

The Toyota Yaris is not one of the vehicles affected by last year’s recalls for unintended acceleration. That said, one of the major things that distinguish the 2011 Yaris from the 2010 model is standard brake override technology, which automatically cuts off fuel to the engine when the brake is applied. Other changes include, sun visor extensions for the liftback models and a price increase of about $250. Other than that, the 2011 Toyota Yaris looks exactly like its predecessor and drives just like it too. But lack of change isn’t a good thing.

One of the Toyota Yaris’ greatest strengths is its impressive safety package. In 2010 the Toyota Yaris adopted the Toyota Star Safety System as a standard feature that includes anti-lock brakes, stability control and traction control. The Toyota Yaris is one of the few vehicles in its segment to offer these safety features as standard equipment. The Toyota Yaris also has a simplistic, cute design that reviewers like, and good fuel economy of 29/35 mpg city/highway. Overall, it’s a practical car for commuters.

However, with top-scoring models like Ford Fiesta and Honda Fit in the class, the Yaris has trouble. First, the 2011 Toyota Yaris’s interior is bland compared to the competition’s. Plus, when you add features to spice it up, the price inflates quickly. Even basic options like power windows and doors are only offered with package upgrades. Unlike the Fiesta and Fit, the Toyota Yaris does not prioritize driver comport. The dashboard is centralized, rather than in front of the driver, and seating is uncomfortable.

Reviewers do point out that Toyota Yaris didn’t model the Toyota Yaris after high performance luxury vehicles. Rather, the Toyota Yaris was penned for daily commuters who don’t want to spend a lot of money. "In the end, the…Toyota Yaris remains a sensible choice,” Edmunds says. “But the competitive field holds the advantage."

Koenigsegg CCX Wallpapers

The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined roadster from Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg. The Koenigsegg CCX has been engineered to comply with the U.S. regulation and market demands and is a newer design that replaced the Koenigsegg CCR.

Koenigsegg CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coupé X; the X commemorating the 10th anniversary (being the Roman numeral for ten) of the completion and test drive of the first CC vehicle in 1996.

The Koenigsegg CCX was first unveiled on February 28, 2006 at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show although its existence was announced earlier. A derivative known as the CCXR is available, the main difference being that CCXR's engine is tuned to run on biofuel. The different fuel and tune allows the Koenigsegg CCXR to produce 25% more power than the CCX.

Nissan 240SX Wallpapers

The Nissan 240SX was completely redesigned in the spring of 1994 as a 1995 model. The hatchback and convertible body styles were eliminated, leaving only the coupe. The wheelbase of the car grew 2 inches (51 mm) and the track width was also increased, while the overall length of the vehicle was slightly shorter than the previous generation. The curb weight of the vehicle decreased by about 80 pounds relative to the 1994 model. Dual air bags were added and the automatic seatbelts were replaced with common manual type. The pop-up headlights were removed in favor of fixed lamps. Though the general layout remained the same, almost all parts were redesigned to the extent that very few parts are interchangeable. The chassis was changed slightly to increase stiffness (Nissan claimed 50% torsional, 100% bending rigidity increase)[citation needed] and utilized higher rear strut mounts. The fuel tank, previously located at the rear end under the trunk floor, now sat in front of the rear suspension and behind the rear seats.

The base model had 4-lug, 15-inch wheels, a softer suspension, no rear sway bar, and no remote trunk opening option. SE and LE models came equipped with 5-lug, 16-inch alloy wheels, a stiffer suspension than the base model, and a rear sway bar. The LE was basically an upgraded SE model, equipped with leather seats, keyless entry, an antitheft system, and a CD player. Antilock brakes and a viscous limited-slip differential could be had as an optional package to both base and SE/LE models.

Pontiac GTO Ram Air Wallpapers

First offered as a performance version of the Pontiac Le Mans in 1964, the Pontiac GTO quickly became a separate model. The model was immediate hit and the 1965 model was named 'Motor Trend Car of the Year'. Over the next few years, the Pontiac GTO was further developed to keep up with the 'muscle car race' in North America. The changes included a larger engine and revised fastback type bodystyle. It appeared in various TV shows and commercials, most notably the 'Monkee's Show'.

For the 1969 model year, two new engines were introduced, the Pontiac GTO Ram-Air III and IV, producing 365 and 370 bhp respectively. The main difference between the two, was the use of a Carter or Rochester Carburetor. Also added to the line-up was the 'Judge' model, named after the 'Here come da' Judge' expression from the 'Laugh-in' TV-show. The package included a striking set of decals and the easily recognizable 'Caroussel Red' orange paint.

Pictured is a perfect example of a Pontiac GTO Ram-Air III, equipped with the Judge package. It is equipped with a long list of extras, which added $ 1.327 to the $ 3.156 base price. The $ 337 Judge package included the Pontiac GTO Ram-Air III engine, special Rally wheels, ride & handling package, Ram-Air intake, blacked out grill, air foil and decal package. Another interesting extra, is the hood-mounted tachometer. It's seen here at the 2004 Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance.

In retrospect 1969 proved to be the last great year for muscle cars, with new emission regulations and high fuel prices effectively killing them off in the early 1970s. Sales numbers quickly fell and by 1972, the Pontiac GTO Ram-Air III was again just an option for the Le Mans model. Production of the legendary model ceased in 1974. Pontiac returned to the 'Pontiac GTO Ram-Air III' badge for an all-new performance model, which hit the markets in the summer of 2004.
