1955 Ford Fairlane-First Generation

the Fairlane name replaced the Crestline as offering premier full-size Ford in 1955. Offering six different body styles, including the Crown Victoria Skyliner with a colorful, transparent plastic roof, regular Crown Victoria coupe with lots of stainless steel trim, a Sunliner convertible, coupe Victoria, traditional sedans. Power options were a 223 CID (3.7 L) straight-6 engine and 272 CID (4.5 L) V8. All featured brand stainless steel "Fairlane stripe" on the side.

Victoria hardtop was introduced, two new options and more powerful V8, 292 CID (4.8 L) 312 CID (5.1 L), the latest available up to 225 brake horse power (168 kW). 1956 saw few changes, a 4-door. Lifeguard safety package was introduced.
