Sales were hurt when the GTX Road Runner offered in a convertible body style in 1969. The GTX received minor cosmetic changes such as the introduction of the Air Grabber hood optional (standard on models with Hemi engine) who made the hood scoops functional. The GTX was the last 69 years that the convertible model was available on the GTX (VIN RS27).The standard 440 V8 was still rated at 375 hp (280 kW). In 1969, Chrysler Corporation has only 701 GTX convertible. Of these, eleven were equipped with the 426 Hemi, four and seven 4-speed automatics Torque Flite. The 1969 GTX also had standard black paint lower body side, replacing the dual mandate "racing" stripe on the lower side of the model 1968.
