The sales literature since 1968, said the Camaro was the second year for "fun crowd" and that it was a "husky performer and looks it." Marketing Chevrolet

The second year of production Camaro has been little changed. These minor changes were to the front and rear of the car. The 1967 Camaro has square headlights were replaced by rectangular. Markers were added and the side openings of the windows were removed. All minor things, which says that in general the designers got it right the first time. Pony Car fans were well satisfied with the car too. Chevrolet sold about 221,000 Camaros In 1967. Then sales were over 235,000 in 1968. The car was well received.

The base Camaro emphasized that the car looks on the performance. The largest engine available in the baseline block was the 327ci small. It was a good engine, but could not compete with the high performance which found in Z/28s or big block 302ci. The Super Sport or SS remained the group's ground pounder. It was a quarter mile machine. OZ/28 continued to show his roots road racing. While the SS may have been the power lifter Z/28 was the tri-athlete group.
